Rakhine’s relentless aggression against Rohingya finds great affinity with Burmese military’s human rights violations.
The unrelenting desire of ethnic Rakhine elements in Burma for total dominance over the entire state Arakan finds perfect chemistry with the ultra-nationalist policy of ‘purity’ embraced by the Burmese military establishment. The Rakhine element in the so-called democratic government in Burma apparently is determined to paralyze anything that moves in the Rohingya community in Burma.
Rakhine activists in northern Arakan have reportedly collected signatures from several hundred Rakhines for the Rakhine National Development Party-RNDP to submit a petition to the Burmese National A|ssembly(Pyitaungsu Hluttaw) to investigate the three Rohingya MPs of Union Solidarity and Development Party-USDP from Maungdaw and Buthidaung constituencies namely, Zakir Ahmed(Aung Zaw Win), Abdul Razzak(Shwe Maung) and Zahidur Rahman(U Htay Win) are genuine Burmese citizens or not.
The appeal further calls for impeachment of the Rohingya parliamentarians. The appeal has been reportedly accepted by the National Assembly which saturated with former military officials. Currently, the fate of the Rohingya parliamentarians depends on the USDP.
